Can you do buddhist meditation if you are non buddhist?

  1. buddhist is just a label for someone who does “buddhist meditation”. So yes. It’s a word, not a magical label that changes your personal characteristics of what your physically capable of doing. lol

  2. You can meditate regardless of your religion. Meditation is practiced by many different faiths. You do not have to be a Buddhist to do so. God Bless! +?+

  3. Buddhists meditate in order to stimulate their pineal gland (third eye) so that it produces Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) for the brain to venture into the essence of reality. Modern non-Buddhists experiment with Dimethyltryptamine as a “drug”, and it takes them seconds to reach a mental plateau that would take a Zen master 20 years to achieve.

  4. Catholics have guidance not to follow the eastern meditation as it would bring us harm, it deceives our mind that emptiness is the state of happiness, but it’s not…
    A true Catholic or Christian happiness is that God loves him so much, that God suffers on the cross for the good of His children….

    First of all lets core ct our self, Know Buddhism,&Buddhist,
    Buddhist Simply Min’s those who got Budd hi(Brain),then Meditation is concentrating your self on your own conscious(Correcting thoughts) So
    Every one is Buddhist & meditation is not meant for any Sp.category
    but who got (brain) his meditation is ALWAs ON.

  6. meditation doesn’t belong to anyone, buddhist is just an artificial label while meditaion is just sitting down and understanding what you are. It is getting away from all the labels and artifice. Therefore it is easier for someone who isn’t burdened with the idea that they are a buddhist to reach the state of meditation.

Yes, anyone can practice Buddhist Mindfulness Meditation. “Henepola Gunaratana – in his book ‘Mindfulness in Plain English’ covers what meditation is, what it isn’t, attitude, the practice, what to do with your body, what to do with your mind, structuring your meditation, set-up exercises, dealing with problems, dealing with distractions, sati or mindfulness, mindfulness vs. concentration and mindfulness in everyday life”. *http://www.vipassana.com/meditation/ “Mindfulness in Plain English” is definately an excellent book to use when starting to learn and practice mindfulness meditation.
