It is taught in many eastern philosophies that you are not your mind (thoughts and emotions) and that you should live in the moment. With those ideas in mind can you achieve scholarly or materialistic success, or is the ego (identification with the mind) a necessary driving force to achieve such things.
If so it would great if you could give examples of individuals who were enlightened or spiritual and still went on to have families and worldly successes.

I think finding the right balance is the main idea.
Of course, that’s the only way to true success. success given by the devil is but a masquerade.
Yes. Using Godly Christ filled character and work ethic will sow good seeds in your career and set you up for real success. Just do not love money or trust in it, always focus on Jesus.
no actually to be successfull and being esteemed, means to have the wisdom of Solomon and know how to apply it. nothing to do with spiritualism, but more with asking from wisdom and insight from above.
Depends on your idea of success. You can , to a certain degree.
I’m very spiritual, I’m far to the left, and I am going to be a businessman. I smell a sitcom!!!
Peace
Allah SWT says in Al QUran For Righteous Servants:-
FOR THEM ARE GLAD TIDINGS, IN the LIFE OF the PRESENT WORLD (i.e. through a righteous dream seen by the person himself or shown to others), and IN the HEREAFTER. NO CHANGE CAN THERE BE IN the WORDS OF ALLAH. THIS IS INDEED the SUPREME SUCCESS.
( سورة يونس , Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #64)
And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the PRESENT (LIFE of this world).
( سورة الضØÂÙ‰ , Ad-Dhuha, Chapter #93, Verse #4)
Verily, these (disbelievers) love the PRESENT LIFE of this world, and put behind them a heavy Day (that will be hard).
( سورة الإنسان, Al-Insan, Chapter #76, Verse #27)
