That supposedly predicts the end of the world? I have been looking for it, but I am having trouble. All the sites seem to skip around it and not actually quote it.

I don’t believe any of this 2012 stuff, I just need to see the quote. Thanks.

  • Most academic sources maintain that the associations made between world events and Nostradamus’s quatrains are largely the result of misinterpretations or mistranslations (sometimes deliberate) or else are so tenuous as to render them useless as evidence of any genuine predictive power. Moreover, none of the sources listed offers any evidence that anyone has ever interpreted any of Nostradamus’s quatrains specifically enough to allow a clear identification of any event in advance

academics suggest that his reputation as a prophet is largely manufactured by modern-day supporters who fit his words to events that have either already occurred or are so imminent as to be inevitable, a process sometimes known as “retroactive clairvoyance.” There is no evidence in the academic literature to suggest that any Nostradamus quatrain has ever been interpreted as predicting a specific event before it occurred, other than in vague, general terms that could equally apply to any number of other events.

Much of what you read today on Nostradamus, are interpretations from the author of the book your reading. As i’ve said everything people tend to claim for Nostradamus, is always in hindsight. or just a gross misinterpretation like the one, one guy wrote about i quote ” Trojan blood is troubled by the Spanish…….” is interpreted as describing how the Italian army marched into Northern Africa during the 2nd world war” What has Trojan blood and the Spanish to do with the Italian’s and north Africa. Sort answer nothing, like so much to do with Nostradamus, it’s just made up. As to your question, no this is just another example of people who are trying to propagate this 2012 lie, to add anything they can just to try substantiate their lie, so as to make as much money as they can from the gullible.

I’ll make a prediction, that nothing will happen in the year 2012 other than the normal thing that go on each year (o and thee Olympics of course). but sometime in 2013 you will start to see people coming onto the net claiming a new date for the end of the world as we know it, the new date will be between 5 and 7 years in advanced of this date IE 2020. or 2022. this is so they have enough time to research, write and print a new book, so that they have enough time to make enough money out of it.

  • The Lost Book is the best source because Ive read most of his quatrains and he never specifically says the world will end in 2012. He just sort of talks about how without giving a date.
In my opinion the best 2012 prophet was St Malchy. He predicted every pope after him by listing their place of birth mottos and coat of arms. Pope Benedict was his lst pope before Pope Peter who will tend his flocks while the seven hills burn and so on and so forth. Basically the pope after Benedict is going to be the anti Christ or a very evil person that will bring a end to the Catholic Church.

  • he said when there are 3 lunar eclipses, with a solar eclipse in a 20 year period, that,( in our time is between 1992 and 2012..) with an 8 way alignment astronomically, it was a warning

  • I bought a book “The Prophecies of Nostradamus” which contains many extracts from Nostradamus.
There are no useful predictions – it’s all simply interpretation.
This is the sort of thing you get:

“When the snakes surround the altar, and the Trojan blood is troubled by the Spanish…….” is interpreted as describing how the Italian army marched into Northern Africa during the 2nd world war!

There is nothing in the book which predicts the end of the world.

Maybe I missed something, but then you would assume it would be in the book if there was such a prediction.

  • The “Lost Book of Nostradamus” is a version of the anonymous Vaticinia de summis pontificibus – a book of prophetic papal emblems dating from centuries before his time — and makes no mention the year 2012

Nostradamus and his quatrains are clearly intended to be read in a pre-apocalyptic manner, they do not mention (more importantly DATE) the end of the world. Their Preface summarizes that they are valid until the year 3797ce

He never mentioned anything about 2012

He mentioned the year 1999, so people were bricking it towards the end of the last century

L’an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,
Du ciel viendra un gran Roy d’effrayeur.
    Resusciter le grand Roy d’Angolmois.
Avant apres Mars regner par bon heur.

The year 1999, seventh month, [or simply “sept”]
From the sky will come a great King of Terror.
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.
