  1. I struggled with this myself until I finally quit. To me it a matter of letting go of the desire for anything of this world.
It is not that enjoying a cigarette was so bad but the fact that I couldn’t say no to them.
I think we all know how bad they are physically to the human body, but do not beat your self up over it.
I quit by reversing the Psychology by giving my self credit when I hadn’t had one for a day, even though it was only a day I felt good about it. Eventually I could do 4 to 5 days with no problem and even knew that if I really wanted one I could have it with out feeling guilty about it.
Took me a year and a half to get to a point that I felt they didn’t matter any more.
    Good luck
    Bless You

  2. Yes. It does harm your Vishudhi Chakra (5th energy centre). But by regular practice of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, the awakened Kundalini nourishes the Chakras with divine vibrations.. that over a period of time, automatically you lose interest to smoke, drink alcohol, etc.

  3. yes and in a big way. Anything you do that will or can cause your health to decrease is a sin. Why? because The Almighty GOD does not dwell in an unclean temple. 1Corinthians 6:19, what? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. glorify God in your body. Smoking is unclean to God.

  4. If your physical well-being is a component of your spirituality, then yes.
Yes, I think it could cause blockages. Many cultures observe fasts & other cleansing rituals to bring themselves to their full power. I am not all that much into yoga, but just from a common sense perspective, being unclean in body effects how your spirit will perform, so I would think the same would be true here.

  5. I think it is not the smoking directly that harms your path to spirituality but I would say it is the attachment into the habbit
that can keep you blocked from reachinga higher level.
    Like attachment in anything else.

  6. I found this I hope it helps:
    Quitting Smoking and Spirituality
Quitting smoking empowers one spiritually by aligning their actions with their words. The importance of gratitude is strongly emphasized in many spiritual texts, as the foundational spiritual principle. Sarah Ban Breathnach, author of Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy, said, “You simply won’t be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.”
One’s actions reflect their true self. If one gives thanks for good health, a healthy family, and prosperity, but sabotages those things with a destructive habit such as chronic smoking, it is not true, heartfelt gratitude. By quitting smoking, one remains in spiritual integrity, as their words match their deeds.
