Buddha coming and going?

We were once a Buddha but if we can fall into the world of Maya and take the form of ego-self and undergo sufferings, then how can we be sure we will not fall into Maya again after achieving Buddhahood for the 2nd time (or is it the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc) in the future?

When you’re a Buddha, be a Buddha.
When you’re a fool, be a fool.

Oh wait, no, it sounds about as ridiculous as Christianity.

  3. Good morning Immortal.
As I understand there is a difference between having Buddha-nature which we all have according to my practice and becoming a Buddha. Once one attains Enlightenment and becomes a Buddha the cyclic rebirth in samsara is broken so a Buddha will not return for a second time or any time in the future. That is reserved for the next person who attains Enlightenment.
    May all be at peace.
