Atheists, if you were given the chance for your consciousness to survive death, would you take it?

  1. this is impossible as for my consciousness to survive death, my brain would need to survive death and therefore it wouldn’t be death.

  2. You appear to be one of the many who think atheists just don’t WANT there to be any god or afterlife. This is one of the many false stereotypes about atheists. Of COURSE my ego wants to live forever, but wanting does not make it real nor does it make it possible to “believe” just ’cause I might want to. I would also like to believe that I will grow more beautiful as I age, I will never get sick or hurt nor will anyone I care about, I can eat as much rich food as I want without ever gaining a single pound, etc., etc.
On the other hand, eternity is a long, long time, so sometimes oblivion sounds better and much less tiring.
