Are psychic abilities like telepathy, telekinesis, mind reading, etc real?

Does everybody have a potential psychic ability? How can it be awakened? is it a good thing or a bad thing to have such powers?
–i’m just wondering… 🙂

  1. I think you have to educate yourself and BELIEVE that it is real before you can experience it for yourself.
Example: I have had many “out of body” experiences in my life time. One of the prerequisites (my opinion) to have an out of body experience is to believe that you can do it. The next step is education and practice.
I personally would say “YES” . All of what you said (except the telekinesis) is real.
Do I believe that it can be awakened. Yes, I do believe it can. I believe through education and practice you can open up doors in yourself that you didn’t realize existed. I also believe that only you can determine if it is bad or not to have such abilities.
    I hope my opinions helped.

  2. Good question. You will get a wide variety of opinions. There is a widespread general belief that such things are possible, and no doubt this belief has been bolstered by the media (e.g., all the TV shows about mediums, psychics, ghosts, etc) and hucksters like Uri Gellar.
But if you really want to know, you have to investigate scientifically (in other words, investigate systematically using good logic and data analysis). To date, you will not find telekinesis mentioned in any physics textbook anywhere. Why? Because all experiments done so far to demonstrate it’s existence have either failed or are of debatable validity, and the existence of telekinesis as another “force” in the universe would be an extraordinary claim. Briefly put, extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence. The same situation applies for telepathy and mind-reading. In order to accept that these things are real, we need confirmed experimental results from independent research teams regardless of their pre-existing belief in the claims being tested. We certainly don’t have that.
There is a good summary of what I’m talking about below. Good luck and good reading!

  3. No.
Some people are just good “guessers”.
But those poeple who claim to be able to “read minds” and contact the dead and spirits are just magicians. They ALL have tricks they use.
For example, if you listen to a “psychic reading” you will hear that the psychic almost NEVER tells the person ANYTHING. The “psychic” will say things like,
“I see a person”. [The subejct will nod or look surprised. he see somebody alrady?!?! That’s amazing!]
“it looks like a man.] [the subject may look confused. I don;t know about any man . . . .]
“No, no. It is a woman.” [The subject looks surprised! How the hell did he know that?!?!?]
“I think her name starts with an M” [The subject almost invisibly shakes their head no.]
“No wait, that is an N…” [The subject provide the answer: “It’s my aunt Nancy!”]
By carefully watching and listening, the “psychic” can make simple guesses, and the subject will TELL HIM what the answer is. But the subject (like you???) wants to believe it so badly that they don’t realize that they are being scammed.
it take quite a bit of skill and practice to do this, and I respect the “psychic” for being a practioner of stage magic; The Amazing Kreskin used to do the same thing to find his hidden paycheck at the end of the performance. if he didn’t find the check then he didn;t get paid. He missed only twice during his years long career.
But when they try to pass themselves off as haivng “supernatural powers” they need to be taken out back and shot dead. But I will juist accept their shame at taking money from people just to fool them into believeing that thay are “talking to the dead” and things like that.
ALL “psychic powers” are basically the same — a skilled magician performing tricks, but in this case the subject BELIEVES what is happening, instead of being just entertained, like Harry Houdini did it..

  4. No one has been able to prove this ability exists. I feel there are to many people that are self proclaimed psychics who are only looking for fame and to sell books. If they truly had these abilities they would not need to write books to make a living. It would be easier to just pick the lotto numbers and be done with trying to make money. Many will insist they don’t do it for the money, but have no problems asking extravagant amounts for a reading.
I am not completely closed minded to the possibility of psychic abilities, anything is possible. Until there is more evidence to support this theory and stronger examples of occurrences I remain a skeptic. Many so called psychics have already been debunked.
Strong believers in physic abilities will tell you that you either have it or you don’t. Many claim that their abilities were awakened after a so called NDE or some other life changing event. Many claim that a family member had psychic abilities, although there is no gene associated with this.
The so called powers themselves would be neither good nor evil. I suppose if a person had psychic abilities they could be used for either good or bad, just depends on that person.

  5. haha yes many ppl ask this question, everyone does have it but some of them need to learn how to swich it on they have classes for that but for others its comes on automatically like for my self i am an empath wich mean u can feel emotion, also i am a future teller and a medium so i can sence and see ghosts

  7. I won’t say such phenomena can’t exist but if they’re real they have so far managed to elude measurement and observation. Draw your own conclusion.

  8. I agree with the first guy except that telekinesis is also real, and you don’t necessarily have to believe to have out of body experiences. I know plenty of people who didn’t believe even after, until they were educated.
Science has to close its eyes to this phenomena, because they signed a pact with the church a few hundred years ago that said they wouldn’t investigate the soul. That is the church’s domain.
Being a human being, you have the laboratory to perform and prove all of the theories about these things.
Meditation is a tried and true technique to recognize the soul, and prove it to yourself.
The people with those abilities know better than to show them to the scientific community though, and don’t care that they are not advanced enough to try it for themselves. Maybe in a hundred or so more lifetimes.
    Good luck on your search.

  9. Yes of course they are.
I have many Psychic Abilities, Telepathy for one.
Whoever says they aren’t real are either uneducated or simply blind and scared to the Truth.
And I say this as someone whos experienced many things.
