why don’t we care if we take the consciousness away from animals?

I mean, if we’re like animals also, then we shouldn’t be afraid to die if we can kill animals and plants right?

Not really. If you had ever seen an animal being killed at close range, you would know that they are indeed afraid to die. You can see it in their eyes, and in their body language (just like in humans).

Edit: I think i misunderstood your question, so to clarify, it’s not that we don’t care (at least i don’t think), but it is a necessary part of life to eat animals and plants. So regardless of whether we’re afraid to die or not, killing animals for food is simply something that must be done if we want to eat.

Some people can dish it out but can’t take it. It is our instinct to live and our fear of God occasioned by our sins that make us afraid to die, whether we consciously believe in him or not.

If I kill unnecessarily or indiscriminately, then I have no RIGHT to complain when it’s my turn, but as a human being I would probably complain anyway.
