  • Killed alot of people perhaps… according to WikiPedia he and another wrote a letter to Roosevelt which led to the Manhattan Project….

He latter regreted the fact that we take the position of having a monopoly on the atomic bomb and belived that it should be used as an deterrance by the UNited Nations….

Germany would have made the bomb It was a race… but I think that it was more of us owning the technology and not sharing it with out alies to keep the world in order….

  • if you believe that he did regret it, then you must believe that freemasons as a whole regret their crimes against humanity.

  • He actually encouraged the production of the bomb, and organized a letter writing campaign to FDR.

He said in a letter to Nils Bohr, “When the war is over, then there will be in all countries a pursuit of secret war preparations with technological means which will lead inevitably to preventative wars and to destruction even more terrible than the present destruction of life.”

Yes, the Germans were coming close to bomb development. However, the atom bomb was dropped three months after the surrender of Germany.

    From the New York Times:
“Prof. Albert Einstein… said that he was sure that President Roosevelt would have forbidden the atomic bombing of Hiroshima had he been alive and that it was probably carried out to end the Pacific war before Russia could participate.”

  • You should really ask this question about J. Robert Oppenheimer. And he regretted it because it crossed a line that made knowledge and science too dangerous to be allowed to be shared freely. With that one invention suddenly scientific advancement had to be controlled censored and monitored. A dark day for any true man of science.

  • He created a way of using atoms to create the explosion, but didn’t created. He then told the new to everyone and someone else created the bomb for military use.
He hated war and fighting, and so he felt guilty of all the deaths because he invented the formula.

  • WHY WOULD HE REGRET IT? ARE YOU HUMAN?

Do you know how many lives it TOOK? How many INNOCENT people died, they weren’t military targets, but people LIKE you and me living their lives not causing any trouble.

  • That’s actually not true. The atomic bomb was not needed to defeat Germany, just Japan.

Einstein was a pacifist, so he’d feel some regret that his work being used to conceive any weapon. Though he did initially advocate its construction.
