Dhamma Mahavana , or "Great Forest of Buddhist Teachings") is a large Vipassana meditation center in the woods near Fresno, in central California, situated on 109 acres of forested property in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
The Southern California Vipassana Center is one of over Hundreds of international centers and numerous non-center sites where the technique of Vipassana meditation is taught and practiced. The Center is located just North of Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, CA.
Dhamma Maṇḍa means "the essence of Dhamma" in Pali. The center is also identified as the Northern California Vipassana Center (NCVC). Located in Cobb mountain area of Lake County, Northern California Vipassana Center is situated in the north west of California, nestled among seventeen acres of mature pine, fir, and oak trees.
