Drugs! What a controversial topic — For or against? — Legalizing or prohibiting? Allowing or condemning? Here comes a profound insight on the subject… — “Whenever you start stopping something you give great importance to it, and particularly to the youth. It becomes a provocation.”

About Osho

Osho is a enlightened mystic whose wisdom, clarity and humor have touched the lives of millions of people around the world. His insights are creating the conducive atmosphere or ‘ Atma-Sphere ” for the emergence of what he calls the ‘New Man’ or Zorba the Buddha, the combination of celebration, dance and song of Zorba and the silence, stillness and meditation of the Buddha, the meditation of the East and the materialism of the West. Zorba the Buddha is a totally new human being who is an awakened one, and he is life-affirmative and free. When someone asked Osho the definition of religion, Osho replied: To be in romance with life is religion.

  • Ok… when he said drugs should be purified by the scientists and be made available to all I was a little suspicious, but when he got around to the point of it, it became a revelation to me. Even if his “charm” of the drug theory is ludicrous, (which it most certainly is not), I’m so glad I found another human being with a like theory I have been wrestling. Being that the man is a mystic, I’m guessing my friends will be few and oceans between. 🙂

    • so are opium, and datura, and tobacco, and so on.. it’s completely safe at its active dose, and its lethal dose is many orders of magnitude higher than its active dose, but this doesn’t make it a fundamentally different thing from other drugs

  • I am not a drug-expert but I believe he’s aiming at the psychedelic group of drugs (LSD, DMT) when he says that everyone who wants to try must have the opportunity . I don”t think he means drugs like cocaine or heroine.

  • it is up to the individual if they want to do drugs or not, not the government. and by drugs, i mean all drugs. all drugs, whether man made or not, whether harmful or not. the so called war on drugs is a failure. more people’s lives are destroyed because it is illegal.

  • I have tried different things and the pain medications take away the pain, but also take away your love in your heart.

  • I love Osho! So wise. At the time he was saying this, nobody realised that this is the right path. Now countries like Switzerland proved that it is. They allow safe access to free heroin and so the number of people using the drugs has decreased. They are served in hospital environment so people dont die of overdose, dont contract desease, dont get in touch with criminals. Prohibition has and always will have damaging effects.

  • it happens when ur mind is in such a calm state that ur breathing slowls down, heart beat slows down, nerves are relaxed and he just doesnt have an “urge” to blink^^ NIRVANA MY FRIENDS
