auras conflict with catholic religion?

they say auras have no place in catholic religion i am catholic i believe in the truth and common sense of the bible there are some things I dont agree with all the rules of the church but i am stilll a follower of christ.anyway i had went to church mass and the whole time i saw this beautiful green glowing light outling the priest all around him and it followed him through the wole church i trully believe its what they call an aura or something divine ,trust me it wasnt the lighting ,I’m not crazy its just something that happened what do you think? by the way i have 20/20 vision ,seriously i can see like a hawk ,i dont have any vision problems at all.
honestly i just felt a good feeling it was nice
i just felt good.
someone said my church was bad i dont see the priest as the father my church is good i was baptized there i went to religious instruction there the people are nice but i do have my own relationship with god as well and i dont go to church every sunday like they say but i dont believe i am going to hell for that either so there are some things i dont believe in i know the catholic religion has been tainted with priest that have done bad things . but there is still alot of truth in it i hold on to it and the personal realationship i have in faith

  • I went to a catholic church for the first time ever recently (any church really). I sensed some good energy walking by and I looked to see what it was and it was the priest. After I realized I felt his energy mine opened up as well and I felt like I was overflowing with good loving energy. ( I usually only get that after drugs or a good yoga sesh)

  • –is Catholic–

It is most likely not the priest’s aura (as the word is understood) because you noticed it occurring during the Mass. My guess as to what occurred, (if anything at all occurred) was that you saw “Tabor Light” (currently forgetting its more proper name), which is the uncreated light that was seen when Jesus was transfigured on Mt. Tabor in Israel. The light is said to originate from the Holy Spirit (remember during in the Mass the Priest, united in the priesthood with Christ, prays as Christ’s vicor through the Holy Spirit to the Father) The phenomena is more so associated with Eastern Catholics than it is with Western Catholics. I have heard it occurring in the West, but in general the whole topic is more Eastern.

From what you have spoken of, I have no indication that there is anything malicious with what you saw, if you saw anything. The Mass is a VERY sacred activity and the presence of the Holy Spirit can bring about mysterious things.

My advice: This is not something that I would recommend sharing. If you saw anything, it was something that you were privileged to see. I absolutely do not recommend sharing this with the priest that you saw illuminated least he be puffed up and take a spiritual fall. It is also important for the same reason not to treat that priest as any more or any less holy than he is. It is something that you might want to share with your confessor, if it troubles you. Skepticism is important with mystical phenomena, not because of the need to doubt everything, but because of the need to not read too much into real things and get puffed up. The Eastern attitude, as well as how St. Paul handles personal experiences, is not to directly talk about phenomena unless pressed. Personally, I agree, but take the advice of you confessor over mine.

If you saw anything, it would have been a privileged b/c I doubt anyone else would have seen it. I do not know enough to know the reason why, beyond the obvious of God showing you how important the Catholic priest’s duties of saying Mass is for the salvation of souls. Remember God is with His priests and they are the shepherds of His flock. As the Gospel of John says, if anyone sees a priest, they see Christ, and thus the Father.

  • I know of no Catholic teaching for or against auras.

I have heard discussions that halos in paintings of Jesus and the saints can be considered as their holy auras.

    With love in Christ.

  • Your Church is leading you to destruction . They are teaching false doctrine and a lie . Matthew 23:9 You call your priests father , in the scriptures it says not to call anyone on earth father . Your Church believes it can lie if it will further “their” religion . (Doctrine of “mental reservation” permits Catholics to lie if by so doing they can further their religion .) (Manual of Christian Doctrine , pg.444) The Word of God says Exodus 20:16 , Colossians 3:9 , Ephesians 4:15 . Do you want to let yourself be taken in by this ? Remember Revelation 22:18 May God with His great Majesty and grace fill you with knowledge and wisdom of the Word and bless you and your family . John 14:6

  • This is what I don’t like about the Catholic church. You are made to feel that because you are not clergy that you cannot have a one-to-one relationship with God, and that he will not send you divine messages.

I DO NOT believe these messages are sent from hell. I believe that they are sent from God, and that they are sent for a reason. Out of curiosity, I have read quite a bit about auras and such and a green aura or light is a very positive thing. You are lucky to have seen it. Green is a very peaceful and loving aura color, and I believe that’s what God wants for us.

Please don’t let anyone tell you that you didn’t see it, or that it comes from hell.

  • one time i swear my eyes turned red…:| I screamed…but my eyes aren’t perfect like urz..i have stigmatism? or something..well all i kno is..some things are blurry :\…lucky u…oh ya i’m catholic too…cud b a sign of something

  • If it leads you closer to God. OK if it distracts you from the teaching then it’s not of God. Could be yourself or the evil one. I try not to give him too much credit.

But you might want to just keep this to yourself and “ponder it in your heart”. It might hurt the faith of those who are weaker than you.

  • This could be a glow from the lighting, candles, sunlight, stained glass shadows, etc. I am Catholic and I have not seen what you describe. I have, however, seen beautiful shadows that I believe were caused by what I listed above. Nevertheless, it does not take away the beauty of a surreal moment when my spirituality seemed truly alive

  • Auras are part of a traditonal Indian belief… if you happen to see them around some people, you are a gifted person. I suggest you study and read more about Chakras and auras. Usually, the colors represent something about the person. Good luck to you.

  • If you are being told something conflicts with your Catholic religion just move to another part of the country where it is like a different religion and they will be down with that. They probably have an aura mass in California somewhere.

  • demons can take many forms inorder to decieve people> Demons trick you w/ “visual” things, while God speaks only to your heart>

  • Some people can see strange things sometimes. Consider it a message from God. Truly if God is showing you this pretty ‘aura’ then why would it be sacreligious?
